Printing your logo on hi-vis: what you need to know

Site Crew pack with hi-vis vests, tees and zip hoodies

Branded hi-vis keeps your crew visible and makes your firm recognisable on site. There are a few things worth knowing before you order.

Keep the print off the reflective tape

Hi-vis works because of two things: the fluorescent fabric that's visible in daylight and the retro-reflective tape that lights up in headlights. Printing over the tape, or covering too much of the fluorescent fabric, reduces how visible the garment is. So we always print within the safe print area, clear of the reflective bands.

If your site or client requires garments certified to a particular hi-vis standard (such as EN ISO 20471), check their rules on logos. Large prints can affect whether a garment still meets the standard.

Where the logo goes

  • Back: the main position on a hi-vis vest, usually between or above the tape
  • Chest: a smaller logo on the left chest, ideal for polos, long sleeve tees and softshells

Our hi-vis vest comes with a back logo as standard, or Back + chest logo if you want both.

Yellow or orange?

Every hi-vis garment we list comes in yellow or orange. Yellow is the most common on building sites; orange is often required on rail and some road work. If you're not sure, check with the site you're working on.
